300 Capitol Mall is an iconic 18-story Class A office building prominently positioned at the western gateway of Capitol Mall in Downtown Sacramento.
This premier property offers sweeping views of the Sacramento River, Tower Bridge, and the Central Business District – its strategic location combines high visibility, convenient access, and a prestigious business environment, ideal for top-tier tenants.
Built in 1984, this 405,000 square foot space is LEED certified and home to tenants including Capitol Bank of Commerce and the State of California. The building also includes amenities such as a fitness center, conference facilities, and secure parking, that together with its beautiful exterior of glass, making it one of the city’s most desirable corporate addresses in the area.
However, in the years since it was initially built, newer buildings have been added to the skyline, affecting the view of the 300 Property at nighttime. As a result, the client wanted to add lighting to increase the visual interest of the building, especially during downtown events – for example, changing the lighting to purple to symbolize Sacramento Kings home games. And, with the help of lighting from Traxon e:cue, the goal was achieved.
With uplighting from Vista to illuminate the concrete columns, and ground mounting on the public square with custom shrouds to hide the fixtures, 300 Capitol now stands out day and night in Downtown Sacramento.
