ZF Electric Drive Systems Shenyang Plant

Project Background

ZF Electric Mobility Systems (Shenyang) Co., Ltd. is the third electric drive plant of the ZF Group in China and serves as a key milestone in its electrification strategy. Construction of the new plant began in June 2023, and within just 12 months, the high-standard industrial park was completed and officially inaugurated. 

As a core player in the new energy vehicle (NEV) sector, the ZF Shenyang plant focuses on producing state-of-the-art three-in-one electric drive axle assemblies, delivering efficient and high-quality electric drive solutions for customers in China and around the world. The establishment of this plant marks a significant step forward for the ZF Group in driving the green transformation of the automotive industry. 

The primary product of the Shenyang electric drive plant is the electric drive system for NEVs. Its core components are meticulously developed based on ZF’s modular electric drive platform, including front and rear axle assemblies that integrate motors, controllers, and reducers. The modular design supports a power range from 100kW to 300kW, and it offers flexible switching between synchronous and asynchronous motors to meet specific customer requirements. 

Lighting Solution 

Traxon e:cue provided a comprehensive lighting solution for the ZF Shenyang new plant, tailored to the functional requirements of the facility. The efficient and intelligent lighting system covered production workshops, office areas, and public spaces. 

More than 6,000 high-performance LED luminaires were deployed, including LED cleanroom lights, LED tri-proof lights, LED trunking lights, surface-mounted downlights, and LED strips. These products fulfilled the diverse lighting needs of clean spaces, production zones, and display areas. 

Additionally, the system integrated DALI dimming control modules, enabling intelligent management and energy optimization for the entire plant’s lighting equipment via Traxon e:cue’s Sympholight smart lighting control system. 

Project Achievements 

The design and implementation of the lighting system created an efficient, intelligent, and sustainable lighting environment for the ZF Shenyang plant. It not only met the specific requirements of various functional areas but also significantly reduced energy consumption through advanced smart control technologies. This achievement strongly supported the plant’s green production goals and set a benchmark for low-carbon operations.
