The High Limit Staircase, lit with dynamic lighting from Traxon e:cue, is the latest addition to Talking Stick Casino Resort, drawing the attention of visitors from near and far on the gaming floor.
Talking Stick Resort, located in Scottsdale, Arizona, is a luxury hotel and casino spanning 240,000 square feet, that is owned and operated by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. The resort houses 496 guest rooms, 21 meeting rooms, 6 entertainment lounges, 5 restaurants, a Grand Ballroom, spa, fitness center, and 4 pools, including a stage for outdoor concerts.
In January 2020, the resort embarked on the design of an expansion that included the addition of a High Limit Room with a large staircase entry. As part of the build, the casino wanted the staircase to really shine, drawing guests’ attention toward the high limit gaming area. This led the casino and Clearwing Systems Integration to partner with Traxon e:cue on a solution.
Due to a few constraints, including space and adaptability, Traxon’s 16PXL Strip 2.0 was selected as the lighting fixture for the project. The small distance between pixels, the ability to cut custom lengths in the field, and the fact that each pixel is individually controllable, made this product the perfect fit. In addition, the strips were able to be powered and controlled remotely, limiting the amount of space needed on the side walls.
As a result of the lighting installation, the stairway entry to the High Limit Room is extremely visible from the floor of the dimly lit casino! Thanks to the choice of product, specific lighting controls, and motion sensors placed along the edges of the stairs, the lighting can be changed on a dime, either by guests walking on the stairs or via a touchscreen at the hostess stand, providing a choice of 15 custom lighting arrangements.
